Dr. Priyal Shah is a US and Kenyan board certified Physical and Occupational therapist. She attained her BSc in Kinesiology from San Diego state University in 2012 and further continued her education and attained her Masters of Occupational therapy from University of St. Augustine for health Science in 2015 and Doctorate of physical therapy in 2017.

She has had various experience in different setting including acute care, pediatrics, sports rehab, geriatrics and worked in California for 4 years before moving back to Kenya. She implemented patient specific rehab programs for patients with a variety of musculoskeletal, pediatrics, cardiorespiratory, orthopedic and neurological conditions.

 

Dr. Priyal Shah specializes in orthopedics (pre and post-surgery), hand injuries, home assessments, manual therapy, cardiac rehab, neurorehabilitation (stroke, TBI, Parkinson’s, spinal cord injuries, Alzheimer’s, ataxia etc.). She has had a variety of experience with hand, elbow, shoulder, hip, knee, and back injuries focusing on pain management and optimal functional return.

As both an occupational therapist and physical therapist she identifies the patient as whole and creates treatments that incorporate emotional, physical and cognitive conditions that allow clients to integrate back into society or allow them return to daily function with ease.

​

Having practiced both as a physical therapist and occupational therapist she has gained a varied skill set to implement a patient centered rehab programs to enable patients to gain independence in all aspects of their life. She has had experience as an athletic trainer with college athletes, trained within the DRI floortime model specialist with children and is currently a hand specialist.
